As a busy marketing executive for a powerhouse record company in New York, Chonita Floyd’s days & nights were consumed with the trials and tribulations of hip hop and R&B royalty. In the positions of Sr. Vice President and Sr. Director of Marketing both domestically and internationally, Chonita’s marketing expertise led to the global multi-platinum record sales of many of hip hop's heavyweights. In this non-stop world of fickle record sales, music video shoots, television appearances, promotional tours, endorsement deals, baby mama dramas, and celebrity eccentricities, Chonita found moments of solace in tiny jars of scented wax.
The scented candle became her spa in a jar and she became obsessed. “The gentle aromas of vanilla, jasmine, lavender and sandalwood seemed to calm my nerves and the aromatherapy benefits helped me focus,” she says, “It became the only constant of calm in my life.” Everywhere Chonita went the candles were sure to go. Offices, boardrooms, every room in the house, hotel rooms, everywhere! “I bought candles all over the world in every city, mall, boutique and airport I traveled. At the same time I became frustrated with some of the selections that were available, the scents weren’t right or didn’t last, not to mention the small fortune I was spending.” Thus Sydney Lane New York was born.
Chonita launched the company in her kitchen experimenting into the wee hours of the morning with wax types, fragrance concoctions and packaging to finally develop the perfect candle formula. She is passionate about the product and has crafted candles that not only smell heavenly, but also invoke emotion. Return Policy
We stand behind our products 100%. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply obtain a return authorization number from our customer service & return your product for a refund.
• All returns require obtaining a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
• Shipping charges and gift-wrapping charges are non-refundable.
• Refunds will only be made via the original payment method within 7-10 days of our receipt of the return.
• A 15% return fee may apply in the case of wrong ordered item by the customer.
• A 15% restocking fee will be added to cancellations that have been shipped.
• All non-defective items returned must be in the original complete packaging.
We recommend a shipping method that is traceable so that your shipment will not be lost in the mail. We cannot be responsible for defects or damage caused by customer error or misuse. Our full liability is limited to the refund of the purchase price of the merchandise.
Shipping Policy
Please allow us 24 to 48 hours to ship your order. We ship orders Monday - Friday. If you place an order on Saturday, Sunday or a national holiday, it will be processed the next business day. It usually takes 2-7 business days to receive the order.
We use UPS and FedEx Ground as our main carriers. If your shipping address is a P.O. Box then you will receive your order via USPS Priority Mail.
